It's the simple things

After reading my friend Melanie's blog about a mother who has recently lost a child, I wrote down what I love about Caeden, Zach, and Gabby.

CAEDEN
His smile, working with grandpa, snuggling, the monkey bars, sitting on top of the play house, Bowser traps, clicking his tongue at 5 months old, arm around his brother/sister, singing in primary, growing testimony, handcuffs, obsession with garbage man, garbage piles, “cuter”(computer), “yorgut”(yogurt), fits and then big hugs, no bum when he was born, his grumpy face, walking hand in hand with his brother down the street to play, angel Moroni, saying his prayers, Caeden and mom (8mo. pregnant) snuggling in his toddler bed, reading books, Grandpa Ozzie’s twin toes, dominos, Papa’s bum pinches, smiling at the girls while his team chases the soccer ball, snoring, watching him sleep, trying to be good, praying for Levi, Mom with her big cart and Caeden with his little cart when it is his turn to go to the grocery store, wanting to be a dad, wanting to be a garbage man, . . .

ZACHARY
His bright eyes, the funny things he says, getting everyone else to do his work, sitting in Gabby’s bouncy seat with her, Gus, why mom?, “my name Zacher James”, his baby doll, being held when grumpy, snuggling tight in his blankets, morning chocolate milk, fish in the tub, quiet baby/crazy toddler, when Gabby would cry yelling “I coming baby”, laying on the floor playing with his cars, his Cari, carebears, his dad’s twin, following dad around, saying his prayers and starting over 3 times, sweet voice, watching him run, big hugs, throwing the baseball, long eyelashes, play dough, favorite color is Pink, calling pink purple, drinking the milk and leaving the cereal, boogers, swinging, digging in the dirt, treats, jell-o, watching him sleep, handsome with a fresh hair cut, his ears, his hand in mine when we walk, his turn at the grocery store, adding everything to the cart (mom putting it back), jumping over cracks, jumping in puddles, . . .

GABBY
Her smile that fills her face, wispy hair, wiggling all the time, cheezy grin, hugs, grabby, waking up happy every morning, following her brothers, long fingers, wobbly walk, sitting on the table, giggling, kisses, pounding on the piano, lamb chop, teasing, licking everything, saying Dad all the time, in the bath tub with the boys, her little body sleeping in her crib, being carried around the house by Caeden, being dragged by the feet by Zach, snuggling with her blanket and bottle, carrying around baby dolls, her stinker face, wrapped in a towel after a bath, riding in the Tonka truck with Zach pushing, toothy grin, holding her tiny had as she walks, Gabbers . . .
