Miniature Golfing

We got to go miniature golfing with Kevin and Melissa. Caeden has gotten pretty good and even got a hole-in-one. Zach was another story, he tried his best, but the ball was everywhere. It was fun to watch him, he is finally big enough to do the things that Caeden gets to do. Gabby just wanted to run and throw the balls in the hole. Minus balls in the bushes, a ball stealer (Gabby), being hit with the club (Zach – on accident), and some cheating (everyone), we had a great time. Thanks for letting us tag along Kevin and Melissa.

School

So we survived the first week of school and now we are onto the next. Zach has been ready for preschool for a long time. He and his cousin Cort had no problem the first day. They both hopped out of the car and waved. I keep asking if they learned anything, but they both say no they didn’t. They are mostly excited about the gum balls and toys. I am sure though they are learning something!?

I thought Caeden might be a bit nervous to start 1st grade and go to school all day long, but I was wrong. He was so excited. I asked him if he would miss being home with us, he said no he would just miss Gabby. Rude! It is fun to see him so big. He is excited about the things he is doing each day and has informed me that his cousin Noelle has joined a girl club and he will be joining the boy club soon.

The other day I noticed a chunk of hair missing off the top of his head.

Mom “did you cut your hair”
Caeden “no”
Mom “there is a chunk of hair missing, are you sure you didn’t cut it.”
Caeden “I bet I did”
Mom “where did you cut it”
Caeden “at school”
Mom “what was your teacher doing”
Caeden “she wasn’t looking”

I thought it was funny. At least his hair grows fast and no one his size can see it, so he shouldn’t be made fun of! All in all the start of the new school year is good!

No, I am not going to post every page that I do, but I wanted to show you how easy it is. My friend Krista showed me a lot of things that the StoryBook program will do. (I still need to figure out how to center the whole thing!) Also, she showed me how to download paper etc. from different websites and load them into StoryBook. Anyway, I was exctied, so how lucky, you get another example :)

This is The Place

Last Saturday Caeden, Zach, and I went up to This is The Place Heritage Park. Andrew's excuse not to go, Fantasy Football Draft, he sealed the deal by volunteering to fill up the font. Nice : ) Anyway, Andrew’s mom is a descendant of Heber C. Kimball and every year the descendants’ have a reunion at the park. It’s not bad to go once a year for free!! This year more of the cousins joined and it was a lot of fun. After lunch and a lot of chatting, we took the kids around the park. There are a lot of old buildings to looks at, things to discover, maps to read, animals to pet, trains to ride, clothes to wash (for some reason, this is my boy's favorite thing to do), horses to ride, and lots more that we were way to tired for. We had a good time and it is aways fun to get together with the cousins (their husbands got out of comming to) and their kids.

Lagoon

On Monday Andrew and I went to Lagoon with our friends Matt and Melanie. I felt guilty leaving the kids to go and have fun, but thanks to Ben, Sandie, and Levi, they didn’t know the fun they were missing out on. We hadn’t been to Lagoon in 7 years. I am glad that we went, we had a lot of fun and it was a much needed date!! We made it to all the major rides and most of the smaller ones. I have to say that Wicked and the Spider were my favorite. Although I did determine that on top of the bravery scale is Melanie, Andrew not to far behind, and Matt and I tie for the least brave. I do have to say that we did try all the rides, just not the Sky Coaster, we were the support team!!

Congratulations

Congratulations to my brother Kevin on his wedding. Melissa looked beautiful, and Kevin looked really happy. He and Melissa were married last Thursday in the Salt Lake Temple and the next evening had a reception in her mother’s beautiful backyard. The kids had a major adventure discovering the yard. Zach tried to get his cousin Sarah to dance with him, but she refused. When it came time for the music to start and everyone to dance, Zach was refusing. Sarah was trying to pull him to the floor saying “I need my prince”. Caeden was not shy, he and Noelle were awesome dancers. He had the moves, twirling Noelle, he even received several kisses!! Gabby was happy wandering around the yard and steeling food. She danced and thought she was as big as everyone else, so when Andrew tried to dance with her she dropped to the floor and threw her legs up. She is my beautiful stinker!!

Note ~ my camera battery died so I don’t have very good pictures of Kevin and Melissa Sorry!

$2 Tuesday

We love Thanksgiving Point, the gardens, Noah’s Ark, Farm Country, Dinosaur Museum, . . . So we took advantage of $2 Tuesday. We usually don’t go to the Dinosaur Museum, but for 2 bucks, I dragged everybody there. Because of the price it was crowded, but not bad. The boys love dinosaurs so it was fun to see them discovering how big the dinosaurs actually were.

All together the kids weighed as much as a Dromaeosaurus!

Party

My sister is crazy (not all the time). A few weeks ago she had a party to celebrate all of her kid’s birthdays. There was a bounce house (I tried this, it was fun, but after three kids bladder control is not what is used to be!), another bounce house for boxing (I tried this also, you really get your butt kicked, thanks Ben), a dunk tank (I did not try this), pop corn machine, snow cone machine, pizza, balloons, candy, . . . It was a lot of fun for the kids. I would guess that she had at least 50 kids come throughout the day. It is fun just to watch the joy children naturally have.

p.s. I tried unsuccessfully the next day to have a Birthday party for Caeden with 7 little boys. My mom had to keep me from killing them. I am good at helping out, but not good at hosting.

My 14 year old nephew, I had to bribe him to get a picture!

Almost, but not quite.
