Vacation

Andrew and I decided for our 10th anniversary we would take the whole family on vacation. My parents happened to be going to San Diego at the same time, so we tagged along. It was a lot of fun having Grandma and Grandpa to ourselves for a week.

The kids are all at fun ages to take them to Disneyland and Sea World. The boys thought they would be brave enough for the big rides, not quite. I did take Caeden and Zach on Tower of Terror because Caeden's "friend" Aubrey rode on it so Caeden had to. They were not going to go on it again!!

The Lawrence Welk we stayed at had a fishing pond for the kids. Grandpa showed the kids how to cast their lines. We were told that hot dogs would be good bait, but Gabby liked it more than the fish. The fish were way to smart for us. We would cast the line and the fish would wait until until the hot dog dropped off the hook and then they would eat it. We had fun even though we didn't catch anything.

I love Sea World. The kids had fun watching the Shamu and Seal shows. I think that I had more fun watching my dad at the shows than the kids.

We also went to the Animal Kingdom. It was fun to see different animals that usually aren't at the zoo. My Dad wasn't happy until he saw the rhino's. After we saw the rhino's we were free to wander around the park and see everything else. We had a lot of fun.

Blogging Slacker

I have been a major blogging slacker. I love to look at everyone else's blogs, but I don't like to update mine. After several requests I have updated, a lot!! So keep scrolling!

"S'nores"

We had the opportunity to set up a bounce house in Alpine Canyon at Mutual Dale. We took the chance to roast marshmellows (or s'nores as Zach would say) and play by the river. When we went to buy the supplies for our s'mores Andrew insisted that we didn't need wood for our fire, that we could find some. Needless to say we were making our fire out of tiny pieces of bark, but we did have a fire though really small. It was so nice to get away for the night with the kids.

School Starts

I love having the kids home, but they were ready for school to start. Zach started his second year of preschool with his cousin Cort. This year they get to do "little Chefs". At the end of each month they get to cook something. So far they have made pigs in a blanket, haystacks, and butter.

Caeden started 2nd grade with Mrs. Piesley. He really likes school, his favorite part is going to school with his cousins and of course recess. School is a little intense this year, but he is learning a lot. (I am a horrible mother and never got a picture of Caeden on his first day!)

Caeden's Birthday

Caeden turned 7 on July 31st. I can't believe it has been 7 years already. We met Andrew on his lunch and played a few rounds of bowling. The kids had a blast and it was fun to see how each of them was able to get the ball down the lane. Caeden is getting really good we may be able to invest in a pro bowler soon!!

Summer Fun

We had a fun, but busy summer full of bounce houses. The kids got more than their fare share of carnivals, candy, and bouncing. If they have a choice between plaing on a swing set or bouncing in a bounce house, they now will choose a swing set! We have had one to many parties. When we weren't setting up bounce houses, we went exploring. Here are some of our adventures.

The Baby Animal Festival in Logan
Sundance

When I was little we would take Sunday drives up the Alpine Loop and drop into Sundance. We had fun going with my parents and the kids and running around Sundance. We walked around some short trails, looked at the pond, the rushing river, and played on the stage. It was a lot of fun and it brought back a lot of memories from when I was a kid.
After we explored Sundance we decided to drop in at my Aunt Allison's house. They moved to Heber City a few years ago and we had not taken the chance to see their new house. Even though we gave them no waringin they were happy to see us. Katie saddled up the horses and gave the kids a ride around the meadow. They offered us watermelon and the kids gobbled it up, they could eat a whole watermelon themselves.

Cascade Springs

Another place I used to go on Sunday drives to was Cascade Springs. We took the kids up to see of there was anything left after the fires several years ago. It is still really pretty, just a little chared around the edges. We only had one mishap of Gabby falling in, other than that we just had fun.

Thanksgiving Point

For Christmas my parents got us kids a membership to Thanksgiving Point. Andrew and I enjoy taking the kids to their Monday night activities. The kids like to go down and run around the gardens. We like to splash in Noah's ark and see the animals at the Farm Country. There is always something to be done a Thanksgiving Point.

Zach listening for the Who's of Whoville!!

Bear Lake

Of course we took the annual trip up to Bear Lake and again the kids loved it. It is so nice to go up and relax and let the kids run and play. The beach is always the favorite and the shakes are the highlight. Thanks Anna for dressing my sweet little boy up like a girl!!

This is The Place
Every year Andrew's Kimball line has a family reuinion at This is The Place Heritage Park. We take advantage of it. After lunch we have fun exploring. The kids love doing laudry like the pioneers did, riding the horses, making candles, riding the train, looking at all the old buildings, and getting a treat. It is a fun place to visit once a year.

Soccer
Zach played soccer and loved it. He would run up and down the field and stay with his team pretty well. This is a big improvement from last years T-ball. (he once rounded third base and then sat down to finish his cheeseburger) When ever I got my camera out to take his picture, he would stop in the middle of the field until I gave him the thumbs up sign that I got a good one. There was a tiny girl on his team, she had just turned 3. He always made sure she came on the field to play, when he couldn't see her he would say "where's my girl".
